STANLEY SMITH Stan Smith, beloved husband of Margaret and father of Kim, passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on December 19th, 2000. He will be missed by his sister Helen; other family members, and many friends. During the war, Stan served with the R.C.A.F. He then opted for a life of court reporting and established his own office in Winnipeg where he remained until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Khartum Shrine. Stans terrific sense of humour was in evidence at work and in play. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of 4 south at Grace Hospital for their special care. As Stan wished, cremation has taken place and a private service has been held. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations in Stans memory to the Shriners Burn Fund as tokens of remembrance. Arrangements in care of: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715

Was thinking of these friends of my parents. I am now 65 but knew them as Stan and auntie Margaret. Have so many fond memories of them. They were neighbors in St. James but continued to visit after they moved to Wellington Cres. Uncle Stan would bring out the bagpipes periodically and play a tune which was rather loud in a living room. Rest in peace. Throughout my life Stanley was always bigger than life, and had a personality that instantly filled a room, and you left him with a great sense of love. I visited Margaret in /03, but unfortunately, never got a chance to say goodbye to her or Stan.
